This
description intends to present solutions for the modern
storage of liquids and gases.
Our tarpaulin confectioning company, GRABOPLAN is able
to present reference projects completed 25-30 years
ago as the manufacturer of liquid storage reservoirs
and basin lining of various sizes and types. The high
standard of our professionals' training, our plants
and machinery as well as leading-edge technological
solutions in addition to world-class raw materials make
it possible for us to satisfy the most demanding needs
of our customers.
Perfectly water-tight liquid storage reservoirs and
basin lining are suitable to store hydrant water, irrigation
water, fertilisers, liquid manure, waste water and other
industrial and agricultural liquids containing materials
hazardous detrimental to the environment, with a capacity
of 1 m3 up to several times 10,000 m3.
We produce our tarpaulins with the latest high-frequency
welding appliances and we assume excellent quality (ISO
9002) and long service life (at least 20 years). Our
tailor-made products are easy to install and the above-ground
models can easily be mobilised.
The tarpaulin materials with insulation features and,
with some models, assuming the role of support frame
have type approval and the Application Permit of the
National Water Management Directorate for use in water
management.
In addition to traditional ground basin lining, we have
developed above-ground flexible liquid storage reservoirs
with no separate support frame (up to 100 m3) and gas
storage facilities. Such products are suitable for the
storage of hydrant water, fertilisers, suspension or
the temporary storage of oil.
We hope that the utilisation of products in the booklet
will help your work. We encourage you to use our products
wherever these reservoirs provide a solution for your
liquid storage needs.
LINING FOR LIQUID MANURE STORAGE BASINS
Insulation is made of 1.5 mm thick, water-tight and
long service life industrial-grade tarpaulins of high
tensile strength with polyester fabric backing and
PVC spread on both sides.
The
insulation materials have the Application Permit of
the National Water Management Directorate for use
in water management and the are listed in the asset
subsidy catalogue of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Regional Development.

OPEN
AND CLOSED HYDRANT WATER RESERVOIRS IN GROUND BASINS
Technical description
APPLICATION: for the storage of required and
specified volume of hydrant water on the premises
of agricultural or industrial plants
PARTS
OF THE RESERVOIR
Insulating tarpaulin: 0.70 mm thick, water-tight black
industrial-grade tarpaulin of a specific weight of
850 g/m2 with polyester fabric backing and PVC spread
on both sides, which material and the liquid storage
basins made from it have the Application Permit of
the National Water Management Directorate for use
in water management. The expected service life is
15 years.
Discharge pipe: A discharge pipe is to be provided
for each commenced 100 m3 of hydrant water reservoirs.
Steel or plastic pipes of a minimum internal diameter
of DN100 must be provided for the discharge of hydrant
water.
The external end of the pipe must be provided with
a DN100 type A discharge branch clamp and cap clamp,
while the lower end in the reservoir must be provided
with a strainer basket.
The pipe is connected to the reservoir via a flanged
pipe end produced from tarpaulin on the site.
Water in the pipe should be protected from frost.
The design of the reservoir should therefore ensure
that the water level in the pipe stays below frost
line. The distance of pipes is at least 5 m in the
case of several discharge pipes.
Filling branch: The filling branch is located
at the top of the reservoir with DN52 branch clamp
and cap clamp, through which the reservoir can be
filled up.
Floater: The floater is located in the middle
of the reservoir filled with foam and wrapped in tarpaulin.
This accessory ensures that the middle of the reservoir
is at the highest level and storm water can leave
towards the edges of the reservoir.
Manhole: A water-tight zip fastener built
in the top of the reservoir, providing access to the
inside of the reservoir at the time of installation
and maintenance later.
Design: The shape of the reservoir is designed
and the cutting template is produced with a computer
aided process, while confectioning is accomplished
with high-frequency welding.
Layout options: Square, rectangle or circle.
Recommended reservoir sizes as a function of hydrant
water to be stored are shown in the attached drawings.
Ground basin: Stipulations of the MSZ 15003
Standard "Design specifications for the limitation,
support and dewatering of trenches" and MSZ 15032
Standard "Process of earthworks".
Installation: The tarpaulin prepared for installation
can be installed onto a smooth compacted ground basin
free of sharp and cutting contamination. The installation
of geo-textile or sand bedding is recommended for
the protection of tarpaulin.
The tarpaulin of the open reservoir is fastened by
earth beams, while the closed reservoirs are fastened
by crooks and rope.
The drainage of storm water flowing from larger closed
reservoirs is provided by way of drain piping of the
slope under the tarpaulin or other manners such as
breaking through the earth filling.
Cleaning, maintenance: The surface of the reservoir
does not require washing or cleaning, though large
physical contamination must be remove. It is recommended
to rinse the surface of the reservoir with clear water
1 or 2 times a year. The tarpaulin must be protected
from strong mechanical strains and pierced/cut damages.
Repair: Smaller (3-4 cm) damages can be repaired
with the repair set supplied with the reservoir, while
large size damages are repaired by the manufacturer's
technicians.
