Structures in the product group of aluminium frame tents provide a complex solution for sports, recreational, storage etc. purposes. Graboplan manufactures its versatile tents primarily of own-designed aluminium profiles in accordance with custom requirements. The constant collaboration between the designer offices and our specialists entail development in the quality and safety features and in the technical niveau of the structures. Both custom and standard tents developed by Graboplan are designed to tolerate snow- and wind loads with consideration to the meteorological loads in the region of construction. The quality, strength and quantity of the construction materials are defined after statical planning.
The tarpaulin and frame structure of the tents are in compliance with the building regulations, and have a license qualified by the NMÉ (Nemzeti Műszaki Értékelés = National Technical Assessment).
The supporting structure of the tents meets the standards, specifications and requirements concerning mobile tents, and the products are provided with the manufacturer’s statical minutes.

The aluminium frame tents can practically be used for any purpose both permanently and temporarily: storage, industrial and military uses, sporting events, cultural events, shows and parties.
The design and manufacturing of the structure ensure correct mobility, installation and deposition during assembly and disassembly. The key advantage of aluminium tents is mobility. Easy and quick to erect and disassemble anywhere (a tent of 1000 m2 takes cca. 8 hours to erect), can be extended longitudinally without limits, can be connected to other structures and can be built together with other existing structures. No base concrete needed, can be built on grass-covered area, dirt track or concrete subbase.

The most frequently used material for the manufacturing of aluminium frame tents is high-tensile technical tarpaulin coated with PVC on both sides, and its surface treated with UV-resistant and antifungal additives provide good resistance against weather conditions.
To increase natural light, the PVC-coated tarpaulin can be replaced - on the roof or on the sides - by ETFE foil with 95% light transmission, by traditional tarpaulin with high light transmission or by any other highly transparent foil.
Manufactured in compliance with the requirements of A-149/2014 NMÉ (Nemzeti Műszaki Értékelés = National Technical Assessment) Standard concerning production control, in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
Fire classification: B1; standard fire-, smoke- and burning droplet classification: B, s2, d0.
Fireproof PTFE (teflon) tarpaulin - meeting the fire safety regulations and capable of storing flammable materials - may also be used to store flammable materials in case of specific needs.
STRUCTURE AND SHAPES
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE
The aluminium frame tents meeting the requirements of A-193/2015 NMÉ (Nemzeti Műszaki Értékelés = National Technical Assessment) Standard concerning production control can be manufactured with a free, unsupported width of 5 to 60 meters, with conventional, arched polygon or bent frame design. The primary supporting structure is typically made with “standard” frames usually located 5.00 m from one another, and connected longitudinally with purlins. Overall dimensions may be different from those of the “standard” design - with consideration to load-bearing capacity and static calculations concerning stability. The stability of the frame structure is provided by tensioned wire-rope cable pairs in the outer frames and in the boxes depending on tent length. The joint connection of the supporting members and beams is provided by so-called “hinge-joint” and “fixed” solutions. The rigid connection is provided by the steel rod connecting the two pieces obliquely. The frame columns and beams are made of aluminium profiles and are connected with galvanized steel pieces at the corner points. The nominal dimensions of the aluminium profile sections are 80x120x3mm, 100x225x3mm, 98x270x4mm, 130x310x4,5mm or 124x350x4/6mm with rail-receiving grooves/notches at the four corners. The frame-connecting purlins are made of aluminium profiles as well.

AIR-CUSHIONED ROOF TARPAULIN
One way to thermally insulate the roof is to make so-called air-cushioned roof tarpaulin, where the height of the cushions and the insulation is provided by the air blown between the two layers. Axial duct fans blow the air between the two tarpaulin shells. The two roof sections are typically pressurized by one fan, and flexible tubes ensure the circulation of air between the two units.
INSULATED ROOF OR SIDE TARPAULIN
Several layers of PVC tarpaulin shells are merged in case of an insulated tarp, where several layers of PE foam, glass wool or other insulating material is inserted between the layers depending on the planned value of thermal insulation.
With regard to the order of layers, tents developed and applied by Graboplan Kft have theoretical and actual “U” values between 5,9 and 0,3 W/m2K.
THERMALLY INSULATED SANDWICH PANELS
In addition to insulated tarpaulin, sidewalls can also be constructed with sandwich panels. The panels have 0.5 mm thick steel plates inside and outside, are filled with PIR or mineral wool, and have a thickness of 40 to 100 mm.
The joints of the pieces are covered with plates, using binders with non-destructive loosening. EPDM insulation is applied between the bottom piece and the receiving piece to ensure airtightness.
Single or double doors can be attached to the supporting structure. Our doors are usually white with 4 panels, half glazed on request with stadur sandwich panel inserts at the bottom with 1.7 W/m2K glazing, and with detachable joint.
For other purposes, rolling-, swinging or automatic gates with steel framework can also be installed on request.
LIGHT, LIGHTNING PROTECTION
Sidewalls provided with highly-transparent glass surfaces and polycarbonate, as well as highly-transparent triangle-shaped tarpaulin facilitate the entry of natural light, reducing power consumption by electrical light sources.
Only electricity shall be used for illumination purposes inside the tarpaulin structure. The equipment was established to be capable of disconnecting centrally and in stages as well.
LED high bay lights are used most frequently due to energy efficiency, low operating expenses, minimal heat generation during use and long lifetime. These lights are easy and secure to mount thanks to the fixing brackets, and their IP protection is in compliance with the purpose of the building (storage-, sports- or swimming pool tents). Safety- and spot lights are installed in the facility as well. The spot light is made of permanent light fixtures with batteries of 30 minutes back-up time. The safety light is powered by its own batteries as well.
Load capacity of the structure: max. 0.03 kN/m2 (3 kg/m2), but snow load should be reduced by this amount.
Establishing lightning protection (earthing, air terminations) for the tent, earthing plans, risk assessment and the first revision of the lightning protection devices in accordance with the relevant regulations and standard specifications is mandatory.
The heating of the hall can be solved with hot-air inlet device - provided with dehumidifier in case of swimming pools. This machine is usually located outside of and next to the tent, on a base concrete prepared in advance, and can be gas-, water- or electricity-operated.
In case of gas heating, the air heater includes the gas-assembly unit for functioning, the gas torch, the electric switchboard for operation, with the required power-transformer and -controller parts and with automated thermostat.
In addition to the air handler unit, a PVC air duct is also established inside the tent to distribute the hot air.
Smoke extraction is ensured by the fitted and authorised flue connected to the machine, and by the ladder established for inspecting the flue.
The gas connection and the power input required for the operation of the machine are connected to the natural gas plug and the energy meter installed next to the tent.

ESTABLISHING THE BUDGET
Consultations on the tent type, method of anchoring, static calculations and related equipment are followed by the preparation of a detailed budget including the planning, manufacturing and on-site assembly costs of the tent. Static data is provided for the cost calculation of the tent framework, on the basis of which, the required concrete strength, concrete amount and other requirements concerning soil mechanics can be calculated.
DATA PROVISION FOR AUTHORISATION PROCEDURE
We prepare the drawings, data provision concerning dynamics and preliminary designs for the authorisation design documentation of the construction if required, and as agreed.
PREPARATION OF PRODUCTION PLANS
The frame structure, coupling and anchoring steel parts are manufactured on the basis of approved plans. Production plans are made of the tarpaulins and of the order of layers to be established as well, so that a specific project and the manufactured products can be monitored easily in case of replacement, remanufacturing or repairs, even if it was a custom project or product.
Technology and manufacturing capacities adapted to the dimensions and technical requirements of the project, using state-of-the-art machines: CAD/CAM computer-controlled plotter, high-frequency welding machines (for PVC-, PE- and PU-coated materials), pressing machines (for PTFE- and silicone-coated and Tenara materials), foil welding machines (for ETFE foil). Both the framework and the tarpaulin are manufactured with computer-controlled programming, using high-frequency machines, and on the basis of approved plans.
We arrange the delivery of ordered products to any part of the world with shipping by road, by air or by sea. A semitrailer of cca. 95 m3 is usually sufficient for the comfortable delivery of tent tarpaulin of 1000 m2 and framework.
