Company history
Graboplan Sátorgyártó és Műszaki Konfekció Kft. has been engaged in the manufacturing of different technical textile products for over half a century. The scope of Graboplan products has been extending continuously since the launch of tent manufacturing business in 1969, and follows the accelerating development of the sector, the technological challenges involving the changes in the technical characteristics of materials, as well as architectural concepts of ever-higher levels and diversity.
Thanks to the flexible approach of Graboplan and the continuous improvement of the machines, Graboplan has now references on all continents of the world, securing the company’s place on the international market. By virtue of the company’s business policy and technical competence, Graboplan is specialised in large-scale works where full-service, flexibility and long-term market presence is of utmost importance. The main product groups - in addition to products manufactured entirely in accordance with the custom requirements of clients - include the manufacturing of standard tents and standard covers as well.
Graboplan Kft. and its company groups are held by Hungarian owners, and in these groups, manufacturing and construction are performed under the control and supervision of the owners to this day. As a result of this, different customer demands can be handled quickly, and the decision-making time is shorter. In addition to time factor, profitability is another substantial aspect to be considered. Thanks to customized manufacturing, we are able to adapt the manufactured products to the financial resources of our customers.

Main product groups
Stadium grandstand covers, sports ground covers - with sliding membrane roofs -, facade covering of stadium buildings using tensioned membranes.
Tensioned membrane structures: usually permanent covers. Used from smaller solar sails to covers of stadium-sized structures. The use of these structures as roof- and facade covers is becoming increasingly popular. Solutions using a variety of shapes, implementing unlimited architectural ideas.
Tensioned facade membranes: facade covering of old and new buildings using tensioned membrane for the final design of buildings. Technical lighting and graphic images can be displayed on the membrane surfaces of tensioned facade solutions.
ETFE inflated cushion systems: the versatile, durable ETFE foil is a great alternative against glass. Loads burdening the supporting structure can be mitigated significantly by using single- or multi-shelled ETFE foil inflated cushions, due to the extremely small dead weight.
Aluminium frame tents: for temporary or permanent use. For sports-, recreational- and cultural events, for storage- or industrial purposes. Advantages: quick to erect, easy to handle, minimal maintenance; infinite variations possible.
Air domes: a quick-to-erect tent for winterising sports grounds, swimming pools, industrial premises and warehouses. This quick-to-erect tent type is the oldest type and its stability is provided by the overpressure generated inside the tent.
Membranes for gas containers and gas tanks: all containers/tanks are easy to handle. Storage capacity from a few cubic metres up to 10,000 m3.
Flood tubes are mobile water damage remediation systems providing a quick and practical solution to support flood control.

Staff
The commitment of the Graboplan staff is combined with experience of several years and decades. Our colleagues, who are specialists of different technical fields, are not only involved in pre-production and production planning, but also cooperate closely with the designers and planners of the customer: they are active participants of the projects from 3D design to the preparation of technical documentations and the elaboration of construction technology.
Most of the cutters, welders and metals industries specialists have also been working together with Graboplan for years, which means that their work - in addition to continuous training sessions and the learning of new technologies - is supported by the several years of experience as well.
Our mechanics are qualified to operate machinery, to perform work at height, are licensed rope access technicians and possess internationally recognised IRATA certificates. The reconciliations and communication throughout product development, manufacturing and assembly as well as the close co-operation of these three fields ensure the best possible results.
Manufacturing facility
The principal office and the manufacturing facility are located in an area of more than 20,000 m2 in Győr, 1 hour’s drive away from the Wien airport and 1.5 hours’ drive away from the Budapest airport. The manufacturing facility is easy and quick to approach thanks to its geographic location - this ensures that our manufacturing process is transparent and our Customers are able to inspect at any time.
Each item is cut by a computer-controlled cutting machine if several identical items have to be prepared. The cutting of entirely custom shapes is performed by manual cutting machine in case of non-serial products.
The preparation of materials of different types is performed by special machines, using welding technology. Graboplan owns machines capable of combining every type of materials: 22 x high-frequency welding machines for welding PVC-, PU-, PE- and silicone-coated and Tenara products; 12 x pressing machines for PTFE products; and 12 x ETFE foil welding machines for single-shelled and inflated systems of ETFE foil. These machines ensure a technical background for the processing of more than 1 million m2 raw materials annually.
The manufacturing of aluminium frame tents based on custom size and design is performed with computer-controlled aluminium-processing machines, whereas the steel connecting pieces are manufactured in our own CNC metalworks workshop.
Another important part of our manufacturing facility is the materials lab used for testing raw materials. This is where incoming materials are tested and screened for tensile strength and elongation. We test the changes of materials and welding seams at different temperatures, as well as the tensile strength of fixings we’ve recommended.
In our manufacturing facility, it is possible to create the physical model of the products to be manufactured in accordance with the customer’s demands.
Quality management
Graboplan has been working in accordance with the ISO quality management system since 1997. Our products have MSZ-EN quality certificates in compliance with the regulations, and, on account of our multi-stage quality management system, the mandatory conditions of quality management are supplemented with the following:
